Although she did most of her work before I was born, one of the most beautiful women whoever lived passed away Dec 12th, she was 85. Bette never allowed herself to be photographed in her later years, wanting fans to remember her innocent beauty and raw sexuality as a young model in early 1950's New York. Bette's work includes lots of catfight stills in lingerie and stilettos. Her work inspired the ?Apartment House Wrestling"? photo shoots of the 1970?s. Unlike her contemporary Marilyn Monroe, who truly lived ?like a candle in the wind"?, Bette Page had a long and storied life. She will remain young and to many of us always be the idea woman.

Thank you. Tonight I stayed up researching the Internet for material on an old film full of women fights and duels... And then I came back to see how things were in this board.
It's a sad news I'm going to bed with, but you did the right thing. All of us fans of the fighting girls should take a moment and think of those models, bodybuilders, wrestlers, kick-boxers, stunt-women and such that we dream of - they are human, they shine for a while, and like stars, they die. Not in our memories!
